Book Blogger Appreciation Week is a week in which book bloggers and fans of book blogs celebrate the world of books and the bloggers who spend time spreading the love of books around the Internet.
One feature of the week is the BBAW awards, in which specific bloggers receive recognition as standouts in the blogging community. Of course, the book blog world is so immense and tastes are so diverse that the awards process cannot include everyone’s favorite, and so today bloggers are sharing their favorite blogs that did not make the BBAW Awards Shortlists.
We have compiled a list of some of our favorites that we encourage everyone to check out. These bloggers have illuminated us with their insights, amused us with their wit, and charmed us with their comments. If we listed every blog that we’ve enjoyed this year, the list would go on forever, so we’ve chosen to emulate the illustrious Booker Prize panel by highlighting 13 blogs. Call it the Shelf Love Bookish Dozen.
Thank you to all of these wonderful bloggers for putting so much time and thought into their posts. If you haven’t visited their blogs, you’re missing out on a treat. Naturally, these 13 offer just a taste of the wonderful content in the book blogosphere, but for us, these blogs are standouts. Our (many) other favorites are listed in our blogroll, so check those out as well.

Shelf Love is one of my few favourites that I check almost daily. I feel you are both on a similar reading wavelength to me and we enjoy many of the same or similar books. Do keep it up, and good luck in the BBAW awards. (Fingers crossed).
